A LITTLE LIGHT SHED UPON THE DARKNESS…
I don’t always know when I sit down to type exactly what will come pouring out of my fingers, out of my heart, out from my spirit as it is influenced by the Spirit of God. Most people don’t even try to be the lamp that contains the light of the Lord. It is not easy in an American society where it is disdained to believe that God might actually want to speak out through you, that God might want to do miracles through you, or that Christ might actually want you to be his representative (PUT ON CHRIST) through literal “surrender”.
We all want to see the ‘brilliant men’ and the listen to the most ‘brilliant minds’ but we just don’t want to be influenced by the BRILLIANCE OF GOD.
Light came to the 400 years of darkness in John the Baptist; they cut off his head. So God let his light ‘decrease’ and Christ’s light increase.
Light came to the darkness in Jesus Christ; they reached to turn off the switch. God decided to take Christ out of reach and then show Steven the Truth; they gnashed their teeth and sent him to his Maker.
Light came against the darkness in the face of Saul of Tarsus turned Paul of Christ; they hounded him, defamed him, imprisoned him, beat him, and locked him up in Rome hoping to hide the light. God dribbled the oil out on pages of light.
Light came to the early church in great quantity; they wrote laws against it, drove it into the caves, the hills, the mountains and the valleys. Then they all said “see weirdoes in the woods and freaks in the forest”. The world was not worthy of them; the world is never worthy of the light.
God news: light once activated never stops in the darkness of space; likewise, neither does The Light ever stop in the darkness of human inner space. Once the Light shines in, it passes spiritually via quantum leaps from personal universe to personal universe until it seems to appear everywhere; like the stars for number.
The darkness cannot quench the light; so they try to break the lamps! They spill out the oil and trample it under foot that it might not be in the lamp any more. Yet, it is by then too late, for the oil has already multiplied into another vessel ready to contain it even before the last vessel ‘decreases’ in use. Age after age history declares this true.
Light illuminates in an ever expanding circle from a very small pinpoint origin. It is only the amount of ‘power’, composition of the ‘bulb’, and the design of the vessel which dictates the limit of the amount of light which streams out. In days of old it was Hollowed Oil in clay which shone upon all. Now it is Halogen ((metaphorically speaking)) & Electricity; new jars, new “oil”. It is a type of who we are now; new human vessels with stronger light.
Last thought: Do you know what light “exposes”? Nothing… really; it just ‘reveals’ the shadow lurking on the other side of the thing that light hit; oh, and things you weren’t looking directly at with open eyes!!!
Finally consider: are you the vessel of the LIGHT, or are you the vessel being ‘shined on’?
**Walk in the light while it is yet day, for the time cometh when they will again not tolerate any light; and THE LIGHT will not much longer tolerate the Darkness.**
