“Whose shoes I am not worthy to unlatch.” – the Bible
Why is it that we human beings find it so easy to stand up against God? What is it in us allowing us to think that we ‘the creature’ can speak against, argue against, and flat ignore The Creator?
And then when we find out that He can be severe, and has laws to follow, and gives rules for our lives we feel that we can’t approach Him at all that somehow He is there to always point the finger and throw the javelin at us like Saul did to David?
Then on the other hand once we find out that he is benevolent ruler, and loving Father, and a Longsuffering Deity we then think that we can just get way with anything? We ignore spiritual reality, brush off the Voice, quench the Spirit and go our way saying, ‘Not now Lord.’
It seems that we mortals are a pendulum on a clock — all one way, all the other way, never the balanced position. Perhaps we are ‘under the influence’ of another spirit one which gets a thrill out of pushing us into ditches anything but a balanced relationship with HIM.
The sovereign “ists” says: You cannot tell God what to do!
The word-faith “ists” say: What you believe is all you get!
The free-will “ists” say: God is waiting on you to act!
The free-spirited say: God wants you to appropriate!
The anti-sinners say: God is not going to help you you must!
The atheists say: God is not! You are alone in it.
The deists say: God is watching, but not too close. Be free.
The hedonists say: Eat drink and be merry, tomorrow you die.
The holiness folks say: Until you are pure God cannot…
The grace folks say: God does not truly care it is all covered.
The Positive Confessionalists say: What you say is what you get!
The Humanists say: We don’t need the help, thank you!
The demonized say: Get away! Get away! Get away!
The pragmatists say: I can’t wait on Him, or us Get out of my way!
The idealists say: It will all work out! Time heals all!
BUT….
The true believer says: ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE TO THEM THAT BELIEVE WHO WALK ACCORDING TO HIS WILL WHO ARE FIRMLY PURSUADED THAT HE IS A REWARDER OF THEM WHO DILIGENTLY SEEK HIM WHO DRAW NIGH UNTO HIM IN LOVE.
