Acts 7:51
Ye stiffnecked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, ye do always resist the Holy Ghost: as your fathers did, so do ye.
What is it about us that makes us so hard to convert to the truth? Why is it that even once we have received The Truth we still drag our feet resisting all the other truths which He is trying to bring to us?
God speaks into the heart of man and man is asleep. The Holy Spirit goes forth into the world to convince the world of sin, and they sin while hearing the voice for so long a period of time before they respond. Christ sends his disciples into the world to bring them the GOOD NEWS and they would rather read the daily gazette of the actions of the carnality of the flesh-ridden, demon infested, sin-to-the-puking-level human monster.
Is it any wonder that the Scriptures declares, ‘when He returns, will he find faith in the Earth’? If the door to the inn is closed, how can the visitor ever come in and sup?!
The verse above shows the 5 causes of rejecting God. They are, as follows, in reverse order of the verse:
1. Your fathers taught you to do it – TRADITION MUST BE OVERCOME
2. Your ears have an overgrowth covering them. – YOUR OPINIONS ARE IN YOUR WAY, AND MUST GIVE WAY TO GOD’S WORD
3. Your heart is covered with flesh – YOUR ‘SHELL’ IS TOO THICK, IT MUST BE CRACKED OR DIE.
4. Your ego has gotten in your way! – YOU START EVERY THOUGHT / SENTENCE WITH ‘I AM’, WHICH IS RESERVED FOR GOD ALONE.
