Are you stronger than Diabolos; the devil, the accuser of the Brethren, the one who lies and deceives and detours the human race? Do you think that your will is so strong that you can outfox the fox, and run faster than the snake?
If you answered ‘No’ to this question, you should NOT feel like a failure, a weakling, or stupid. In fact, YOU ARE WISE.
The average Christian has no clue that they are under assault of the adversary and they are so foolish to believe that just because they became a Christian, or became filled with the Holy Spirit, that they are now SUPERIOR to the adversary. And in so doing they put themselves in jeopardy.
How do I know? Because Paul warned about our adversary in very RESPECTFUL terms of warning! He wanted us to not be foolish in our warfare. He warned us that the adversary had strategies, wiles, schemes and plans. He admitted that the adversary opposed him on occasion and was able to push the Apostle back. He admitted that darkness sometimes won. He even went so far as to say that he was concerned lest people once converted would be ‘beguiled’ (kjv) and be turned away.
And he asked that he would be prayed for that he would complete the race he was running without becoming a cast-a-way. He was VERY circumspect.
There is only one son of man in the bible who ever beat the adversary hands down: The Son of Man! He alone put the adversary to an open shame. He alone is able to do it today. He alone said ‘all power is given to me!’ HOWEVER, and it is a big however, His next words were ‘GO YE THEREFORE’ and ‘CAST OUT DEVILS’ and BELIEVERS SHALL…’.
But we must never, ever, forget that we are not winning because of our great wisdom, our sonship, or handmaidenship, our works, our righteousness, or our will or our Christianity! All that will fail in a face to face with the Demonic. Only the words of Michael the Archangel will prevail: “THE LORD REBUKE THEE!” When you are the messenger of the Master whom the adversary must submit to, THEN YOU CAN BOLDLY RESIST THE DEVIL and he will flee from you. Watch your HEAD! Let go your head.
