DRAWN
To Calvary I went,
                not by intent,
                                not by any plan,
                or by will of man;

Pulled by invisible strings
               which somehow brings
                                the soul of man
                into HIS plan;

Finding a need that was not
                though it had been bought
                              a great price paid
                for a cornerstone laid.

At Calvary I fell,
                somehow up away from hell
                              to see His face
                on that torturous place;

Never knowing the direction now sent
                so soon after that time spent
                              yet lifted as on demand
                by the Master’s hand;

Aching as yet another tear rolled
                and my mouth openly extolled
                              true gratitude expressed
                where once darkness was impressed.

From Calvary I rose up
                following Him to a place to sup
                              no sorrow upon His face
                no anger upon Him any place;

Hungering I ate the life given
                finally learning why I was livin’
                              no longer an accident in time
                rather a desired person on a climb;

Choosing the upward path of hope
                without need for a man-made rope
                              scaling the heights with glee
                knowing at last I was in faith free.

After Calvary I began a dance
                out of true purpose not of chance
                              transported up to face the throne
                finally at last no longer alone;
For Calvary was the door that drew me home.
