SOUL CRY”
My soul cries out into the darkness,
i am lonely, i am alone
does anybody hear me?
A whisper speaks back in the quietness,
i am… i am…
does anybody hear me?
My eyes look up to the creation’s vastness
i search, i search
does anybody see little me?
Soft eyes look down with loving kindness,
i see… i see…
does anybody see big me?
My heart aches deeply within my emptiness
i need, i need
does anybody need me?
A heart loving aches within deep mightiness
i need, i need
does anybody need me?
My mind calls out with questions in my stress
i need answers, i need answers
does anybody know the answer to “why?”
A mind reaches out to the call of distress
i have answers, i have answers
do you really want to know why?
My groanings go forth, it all seems so useless
i need a reason, i need a reason
does anybody care to explain?
Unheard compassion flows back somewhat pointless
i am ready to reason, let us reason
but will you listen while i explain?
My body cries out for rest desiring peace within my innerness
i am tired, i am so tired
will anybody hold me while i sleep?
Invisible arms reach out with deep restfulness
i am never tired, i never get tired
will you cease from your labors and sleep?
My being sighs out like a ballon losing its expandedness
i slump in a heap, i can no longer stand
will you catch me if i fall?
Spirit blows down from the heavens with great holiness,
i hold the humble, i — for you — will stand
will you let me carry you at all?
My will decides that ‘no’ was a waste of time, better to say ‘yes’
i surrender, i yield
will you accept my thanks for waiting?
His will resounds ‘what is time’ and my answer is ‘yes’
i respond, i draw nigh
will you accept my company without hesitating?
My spirit opens with eager arms to great blessedness
i marvel, i wonder,
will it last for forever?
God’s Spirit quietly thanks me for my faith and willingness, saying…
i too marvel, i too wonder
will you stay with me forever?
My soul calls out into the love, into the light
hold me, hold me tight
lest i fall back into the night,
His soul calls deep into the heart, into the fright,
hold me, it’s all right
you were created to win the fight.
